Coloring Underwater using Copics

Coloring Underwater using Copics

Coloring Underwater using Copics

How sweet is this little mermaid from Tiddly Inks? I just love the way her tail came out it’s stunning. I wanted to create a water scene with the rays of the sun coming into the water but it took up so much space and I REALLY wanted this super duper cute Lawn Fawn paper to show. So I decided to cut out the mermaid into a circle and add some glossy effects all over the entire circle. Once it was done dryer.. I just let it stand overnight, to be safe, I added the Star Dust Stickles all around the edge of the circle and the edges on the patterned paper cardstock, which is by Lawn Fawn. The sentiment ‘hello’ is also covered in stickles and is the die is also made by Lawn Fawn.

I colored this image with my Copics, of course. I used the lightest of the colors so I can get all those bold bright, beautiful colors to blend well. When I finished the tail I took my Copic Blender 0 and I added dots to the entire tail. This gave the tail some texture to resemble scales. Once I was finished with my coloring. I took my BG000 and went directly over the image to make her have a blue green water tint to her. Now, don’t just swipe all the way through. You will pull the colors in her hair over her face. Instead, just do small swipes and 1 stroke over each colored section. For example; when coloring over the face only swipe one layer of color over the face, without touching any other areas.
