How to Color a Strawberry with Copic Markers – Step by Step Tutorial

Whimsy Stamps - Coloring a Strawberry with Copic Markers

How to Color a Strawberry with Copic Markers

What’s up lovelies! Today I’m sharing my project for my Whimsy Stamps Guest design spot! Isn’t this image super sweet!  I absolutely LOVE the strawberry, so I wanted to share with you all How to Color a Strawberry with Copic Markers. Super fun, right!? I’m using this brand new Whimsy Stamps image called ‘Strawberry Mice‘ and it’s from talented illustrator Lee Holland.

I wanted the strawberry to look plump and juicy and delicious enough to bite right into the paper. So, I studied some photos of strawberries and the colors in them and where to add the shadows and highlights.. which is what I do when I really want to color an image with such details. Pinterest and Google images are PERFECT to get some awesome ideas for shadows and colors.

Copics Markers used:

  • Mice – N5, N3, N1, N0, C00
  • Ground – E33, E31, E30, N3
  • Sky – B00, B000, B0000
  • Leaves – YG67, YG63, YG91, N5
  • Strawberry – R02, R22, R24, R27, R29, N5, Y17

If you click on the picture of the How to Color a Strawberry with Copic Markers below it will enlarge so you can see it better.

In the last photo of the How to Color a Strawberry with Copic Markers tutorial where the leaves are colored I did take the R02 to the edge of the darkest part on the highlights just to fade them a tiny bit. I can look at this card all day. I’m so excited about the outcome. This stamp is a blast to color! I hope you will pop on over to the Whimsy store and get it before they sell out! If you follow this tutorial I would be thrilled to see how yours comes out.. so please share it with me!
