Today I’m sharing with you How to Create Clouds using Copic Markers .
There are actually many different ways I’ve seen people create clouds, masking, sponging, drawing them first. Today I”m going to show you coloring the negative space, but in more of a cartoon like way. Since I use a lot of cartoonish stamps in my cardmaking I think these types of clouds are perfect!
Copics Used: B00, B000, B0000, C2, C0, C00
How to Create Clouds using Copic Markers
Step 1 – Use B00 and outline the bottom of the clouds.
Step 2 – Use B000 to blend out under and around the outline.
Step 3 – Darken the bottoms of the clouds with B00.
Step 4 – Blend out with B000 and B0000.
Step 5 – Take C0 and shadow the bottom of the clouds.
Step 6 – Blend out the C0 using C00.
Step 7 – Take C2 and darken the the creases in the clouds ‘bumps’.
Step 8 – Add more B00 and use B000 and B0000 to soften the sky around the clouds as desired.
I then colored my stamps for my card. I used Mama Elephant stamps and my favorite paper to use Copics with, Cryogen. Since my clouds aren’t outlined I decided to use the no line stamping on my Mama Elephant images. I used the Set, Carried Away, which also has a coordinating Die Set .. so no fussy cutting! I just LOVE the big ole Balloon in this stamp set. I colored the balloon and to give it that shine I used the Copic Opaque White Pigment Ink. I just love this stuff, I used this in my Creating a Splash Tutorial. You can use this White Pigment ink to really add some great effects to your coloring.
